Does Chicago hold the key to teaching our residents about money so they make better financial choices and live more prosperous lives? We just might.
Over the next three years, the Chicago Financial Education Initiative aims to provide a path to financial empowerment for all Chicago students and parents through financial education. What makes the program unique is the coordination. With 135 different public and private organizations teaching financial education in Chicago, the plan brings together all of those providers for the first time. Partners include the Chicago City Treasurer’s Office, Chicago Public Schools, the Department of Family & Support Services, Chicago Public Libraries, City Colleges and the Mayor’s Office.
