Beth Spurgeon – Director

Executive Director, ArcelorMittal USA Foundation at ArcelorMittal

 

Beth serves as the division manager of corporate responsibility and the executive director of the USA Foundation at ArcelorMittal, the world’s leading steel and mining company. She spearheads sustainability and corporate citizenship initiatives specific to the company’s operations in the United States, Canada and Mexico. This includes driving forward the implementation of ArcelorMittal’s 10 sustainable development outcomes.

Beth leads ArcelorMittal’s U.S. community investment initiatives, including national and local nonprofit partnerships in the company’s focus areas of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education, environment, and health and safety. She also manages national sustainability reporting, stakeholder engagement, and employee engagement initiatives across ArcelorMittal’s 26 facilities in the U.S. which employ more than 18,000 people.

Prior to joining ArcelorMittal in 2014, Beth spent nine years in the nonprofit sector, occupying positions at the national headquarters of the YMCA (YMCA of the USA), the Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center and Housing Opportunities for Women. She earned her M.A. in Social Science from The University of Chicago.
