Marc Kielburger, Co-Founder, WE Charity and ME to WE

In the age where selfies and the “me,” not “we,” mentality seems more prevalent than ever, how do we get kids to think it’s cool to care?

Leading social activist, New York Times best-selling author, and co-founder of WE Charity and ME to WE, Marc Kielburger has a lifetime of experience working to inspire and empower youth across the globe. WE Charity is a high-impact, accountable and innovative charity, and Marc will share an insider’s perspective on empowering today’s youth and on becoming the largest charity on Facebook. He will also show us how the ripple effect of positive content on social media really works and how we can use our time and resources to make the greatest impact both locally and globally.

One of the key components of WE Charity is WE Schools. More than one million youth in 3,500 schools across the U.S. are participating in that phenomenally successful program. We’re going to hear how WE Schools’ comprehensive and resource-rich learning framework is transforming classrooms through experiential service-learning. Through WE Schools, students learn skills in leadership, communication and project management, which results in three key outcomes: increased academic engagement, improved university and workplace readiness, and a commitment to active citizenship.

WE may well have the key that develops future leaders and citizens who know it’s cool to care!
